Evening. I'm Nina and I'm an unintentional MFK.

I am finalizing purchase of 7 tanks tomorrow and what I didn't know before viewing was that all the fish were included.

I have no clue how to care for Monster fish so I'm researching a ton!

I know that I'll probably keep a few of the fish but I don't think I'd be able to care for all of them.

Is this a good place to find out which would be easier to sell or easier to take care of?

I'm getting:
Gar
Red tail catfish + hybrid
Red devil
Iridescent shark
And another large oscar but I can't remember the name.

Welcome!

Assuming you have kept fish before?

What size tanks are you buying?

Lol.

Yes. I have kept fish. Largest fish were large goldfish. I normally keep Betta, pleco(large and bristlenose),pea puffers, dojo loach, guppies, shrimp, snails, small tetras and a few others.

I have the tanks now, marked with an asterisk, so in total I've got:
120*
100
75*
60*
55 short
40 tall
40 short*
30 tall*
20
15*
And a handful of 10* gallon tanks.

So I think I have enough tanks to keep them but it's only going to be temporary for most of the big ones.
I also now have 20 or so electric blue Texas cichlids that i need space for so I can't spread the larger fish into their tank.

Welcome! And wow! You;re buying several tanks all at once? Are you opening a fish store? If you really want to provide good care for monster fish, then your research will tell you that your RTC hybrid alone will require the volume of ALL your tanks combined (possibly more) in the long run. Iridescent shark is another monster that can reach up to 3 feet. Before you get any of these fish, get your tank sizes and long term care plan in order first. There is lots of help available in these forums! Cheers!

It was a deal I couldn't pass up. Didn't know the fish came with it.
The RTC passed the day after transport. I have managed to give the clown knife, chocolate cichlid, and Florida gar to my LFS. so, I still have the red devil, Jack Dempsey, iridescent shark, RTC hybrid, and 22 electric blue texas cichlids.

First few days were a total **** show. None of the tanks the fish went into were cycled, though I didn't empty or clean the filters they came with so it won't be as horrible as it could be.

When they eat for at least a week and color back up I'll know it's safe to sell them. I'm used to keeping nano fish not monster fish. Though, I may have to keep the Red devil, it plays peek-a-boo with my mom.

I have been reading this forum, it's been very helpful so far.

Thanks so much!
