Have you tested your water?
Yes
If I did not test my water...

Do you do water changes?

Hey everyone i could really use some help here. i’ve noticed one of my star sapphires has starting loosing some of his scales on his side and partially on his nose. does anyone recognize this or has had a similar issue? and if so what is the treatment you used to help you? i have solid water parameters, no other fish in the tank has this, there’s no flashing going on to rub off a scale, he eats like a ****ing champ, poops look good. any insite into what this could be is extremely helpful thanks guys!!

also i didn’t mean to select “no” for water changes, yes i do water changes lol

Notice there’s some craters with a white center on him too, wondering if it could be early sign of HITH or something else. As for the scales, if you look at some of them like they’ve became brittle and flaking off rather than picked off by another fish, (just an idea)7A3FBB4E-2BB4-4083-B839-B9D02E067C99.jpeg

Looks a bad case of HITH (hole in the head disease).
What is your water change schedule? and % of the tank volume when you do changes?
What is your nitrate concentration in ppm?
HITH is iusually caused in tandem with high nitrate, and a lack of sufficient water change volume, and frequency.
