unknown florida fish

I am visiting my grandparents and was fishing in a retention pond for bass when I caught this. its about 15" long and hit on a white twistertail. it had no teeth, can anyone help me id this fish?

But the thing is this is a freshwater pond.

That would def be a tarpon they can live In fresh water for a time but than they normally end up back in salt if u ever go to bass pro they sometimes put them in there display tanks

Tarpon. Can live well in both Salt and Freshwater, though I can assume that it's the ones in the salt that get to truly monster size.

Maybe brought there by the hurricane or drop there by a bird or someone released it there.
