What kind of pike cichlid do you think this is can anyone help

that looks like a bowfin??? check some pics i got thesame one from an lfs turned out to be a bowfin

not a bowfin, the head is too pointed. i dunno what it is, but if it had red with that pattern, it would look awesome!

100% not a bowfin and 100% a crenicichla sveni.

seems like every pike that needs an id, someone suggests sveni without fail and when it finally is a sveni, we start getting bowfin suggestions.

Well, I'm not expert but judging by the shape and coloration, I'd have to say it is an awesome pike. Yup, pretty sure thats what it is. I'm about 90% on this one.
