I hope someone can help me here.

Im busy finishing off my 120 gal build but for now the fish and a few plants are taking up home in a holding tank.

I bought a few plants from my LFS but they did no know what they were. I have always found that with plants it is really hit and miss and the only way to know if something is going to grow in your tank is to give it a try.

Anyway, last night I decided to take this plant out of the pot because I was worried that the roots would not be getting much circulation the way they had it. To my surprise it came right out of the pot and there were no roots? When I had a closer look I saw its roots were along the stem.....very few though. It was also about ten individual plants.

Does any one know what this thing is, looking at the roots it looks like some kind of ground cover. Any ideas?

They will in the new tank, Im just worried about them just getting established and then I go and rip them up to move over to the new tank. That will surely damage some of the roots.

The new tank will be ready in two weeks so they should be fine for now in the ugly *** pots.

It looks like moneywort to me. It's a stem plant, so it has no roots in the bottom but they grow out of the bases of the leaves when put underground. It can be used as ground cover if you wanted to.

Awesome, thanks. I have looked at a few pics online and it looks right. That is ideal for the landscaping I want to do in the new tank.
