Unknown pleco at petsmart

I got 6 giant danios, and then his guy was in the giant danio tank, and I asked the lady if i could get that "medium pleco" as well. she kept scrunching her nose and narrowing her eyes because I think that she noticed that it didn't quite look like the one on the sign or the one in the "pleco tank" but she did end up giving it to me for $5.99.

So now, I'm trying to figure out what species it was and if it is somethin extra special or not.

look just like a sailfin pleco to me. its pattern is a lil different, black spots are elongated, usually they only look like that on the face.

if its finage is small its probably just one of the species thats sold as a common. i cant tell from the pics

I'm thinking Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps. Hard to say for sure without a shot of the dorsal fin up.

Isnt that a rhino pleco? with the two little horns? If it is its about full grown they only get 4 inches or so.

Rhino pleco's get about 30cm like the first pic in your link.

Its a Sailfin.. just a very odd pattern sailfin... maybe its a hybrid of some sort... but a very nice individual!

Looks like a variation on a "regular" to me, just with some additional coloration. Don't think it's a gibby as there doesn't appear to be a pattern on the eyes and it's definitely not a rhino. Good luck on me being wrong and it being a lucky find. Those are the best.
