Unknown Tilapia for free, pick up in San Diego

San Diego
Caught a Tilapia when it was about 3 inches. Its about 5 inches now. Unknown species. Not a striking looking fish, but something different. Eats pellets, earthworks, flakes. Pick up in San Diego. I attached a pic of what it will look like when it matures. I can post a pic of the actual fish if anyone is interested.

bad idea, alot of people frown upon that out here, just to many risks
 
they get a lot bigger than that,.............. about twice as long

they eat almost anything all day long, we caught a dozen at about 2" and kept them until they were up to 9", they get big fast. they're all in my neighbor's pond now
 
being ur from san diego, did u catch that at salton sea? its a dead lake that was created by accident and tilapia were introduced to stimulate it cuz they clean stuff up i guess. ur actually encouraged to keep and eat them cuz they grow and reproduce super quick i guess. if u fish there, ur arms are gonna fall off cuz u literally catch em like every minute haha.
