The past 2 weeks this weird white/clear stuff has appeared in my 55g. I suck out all that I can during water changes amd it just keeps coming back. It sticks to the glass and keeps growing ill try to attach some pictures and a video to see if anyone can help

Parameters are nitrate 0 nitrite 0 ammonia <.02 and ph 7.8

Im using 2 HOB filters (whisper 30-60 and aqua tech 30-60) temp is kept at 80 and i just changed the substrate from gravel to sand a couple days ago but the stuff was in the tank before. It only appears on the glass and before I changed the substrate nothing new was added to the tank in 3 months

Could b a type of algae.
Is there a lot of light? Maybe tank in front of a window?

there is a window kind of next to the tank and most of the stuff is on that side so that might be it. I got a couple bristlenose pleco yesterday to see if they would get rid of it but they are to small to put in with my bichirs right now so i have them in a 10g until they get a little bigger

It's from the light it's just fish slime on the wall of the tank with bacteria growing on it. Remove it with a mag float before water changes and if you want cover the side of the tank by the window. It's harmless and common. When you use the mag float on it, it will come off like dust into the water colum. Clean the glass before weekly water changes.
