I was gone to the woods/nature on a 3 week trip to clear my head after losing my Sister back in the spring, and I get back to "the world" and the internet and see at least 4-6 of my friends here on probation?? I could see one or two, but that many? That just shows a swing of people trying to have an agenda (Chix and other mods) After talking with them I hear about the childish BS that sounds like it took place here while I was gone by not just a couple members, but a couple mods/admins.

Such a shame. As a nearly 50 yr old man myself that has ran websites for years, I expected more from the Admins of this place. And I'm sure this post will be deleted in a hurry soon as it is seen my Chix or brought up in the mod forum, I know how things work. But just so you know. I am not "ran off" by the things you guys are doing. I am leaving on my own accord because I don't deal with this sort of childishness. It's quite ridiculous IMO and you guys need to grow the hell up.

I wish you all the best, and it's too bad this place has turned into such a childish/political *****fest where sides are chosen.

Anyone that see's this before it is deleted and wants to stay in touch, get a hold of Krich he knows how to reach me.

It has got rather silly recently. I think it's a bit drastic leaving the site but that is totally your choice. All the best in the future Steve after your recent personal troubles.

just use this site for the market place. Mods here power trip. One of the reasons why this site is dead.

Happens in every forum...people power trip and older members start flaming and running off noobs or youngsters for violations or “stupid posts” and soon, it’s a ghost town with just a clique of so-called “respected” members. Kinda sucks...

I’ve been a member and mod of my share of large forums over the years as well, talking at least 300K+ members...

So i can honestly say crap happens, people change and attitudes change, its all part of life sadly, same with forums...

I can also say its a shame to lose you since i always liked reading your lounge threads, especially the R/C ones but again, its your choice to leave or stay as no one can tell you what to do...

Eitherway, im sure MFK will still be around in the future if you decide to pop back in...

Other than that, all thats left to say is, i hope you had a good fishing trip and that it maybe helped clear your head a bit...

P.S i hope you also got the mods side of the story as well as your friends, since as the old adage goes, theres two sides to every coin...

This site is far from dead and changes had to be made to keep the peace long term. The staff collectively worked on new rules and gave a lot of leeway to those who disagreed. You'll see the majority don't seem to mind or have rolled into it without issue. There have been threads for that discussion and those are closed because everyone has their own opinion on the matter and frankly the topic went past its expiry date. If you still have any concerns please feel free to PM the staff, we are here to look after the forum. I don't know what power trip y'all are on about, if Oddball or the other older staff were more active then serious action would have been taken against more of the members that can't accept change.

S Steve_C welcome back from the trip. We aren't deleting content that disagrees with the Change Taking place, civil discussion on the matter is welcome but there have been issues keeping it that way. Please understand that we must enforce the rules if this forum is to maintain it's standards, it's not to discriminate.

As stated previously the web traffic has surged phenomenally recently. As far as power trips, the staff as a whole have been EXTREMELY patient with the member base so far. So if you have a problem with the changes please take it up with Rob or Li, otherwise you're just fuelling the issues that we are trying to solve.

The changes have been made and the discussions were done.

Well S Steve_C id be sorry to see you go but I admire you for taking a stand on your principles.

I'm hoping when things calm down everyone will drift back, not sure it will happen as lots of people are angry about the way things have gone and I don't think it's quite finished yet.

The main thing is I hope your fishing trip did you good and helped you process the hard times you've had recently.

Yeah, for sure, in todays world it's always someone else's fault. I'm sure that your friends take no responsibility in any of this, because they were all forced to act in the manner that they did. Childish BS indeed. Don't lay your blame at Rob's door, or the mods here, your friends need to own their own behaviour over the past 6 months, and beyond.

And yes, you are correct in stating that the admin or mods here have an agenda. Their agenda is the same as it was the day that I joined up, to foster and promote monster fish keeping, at all levels. That's the only agenda that I have ever seen, and I have been here longer than most. In that time I have seen a lot of people come and go, and I have seen a lot of in-house arguments, many ending with a permanent ban by our previous site admin. Oddball Oddball
His agenda was to take no prisoners. While it seemed to me to be a bit harsh at times, it was an effective manner of crowd control, and no doubt an effective manner of time management for someone that is a NON-PAID volunteer. I never once in all these years shared so much as a PM with Phil, nor was I ever introduced to his hammer. For me personally it's simple, show me a rule book and I will play by the rules - and if I can't seem to bring myself to do that I will find somewhere else to play. Good luck.
