Well my 3 year old nephew got a lionel train for x-mass and plays with it daily but my brother notice he keep setting it up under the dinning room chairs. when he ask him what he was doing he said it was his tunnel. Well my light bulb went off, I always wanted to make some sort of foam aquarium background and have also thought of turning my koi pond into a oriental style pond with a outdoor lionel oriental express train around it for me ! lol I mean the kids to have fun with. So here is my first a temp at a tunnel.
here's the general structure of the cave the pvc pipe is for a cave I'm incorporating into the tunnel so he can watch the train pass threw the hill the wires are led lights that will shine on the train as it passes threw.

this is a shot looking threw the cave at a train there's a little reflection from the acrylic i put in so a hot wheel wouldn't make it through and derail the train in the tunnel.
i put chicken wire to help hold the foam to the wood
Great stuff foam
here I've already dremeled the foam and started painting the rock. you can see ware the rads well be for off road hot wheels.
after some more painting and a trip to the hobby shop for railroad grass,gravel and shrubs wallah train tunnel. hope you enjoyed
