That fish or group that doesn't get the attention but is reliable and a great complement to whatever you put in the tank. For me it has to be my rasbora caudimaculatus (sp?) the red or giant scissors tail . Peaceful, hardy, attractive. My group of six has been through a lot and are turning eight, a year after I was sure I was going to lose two of them WP_20161217_005.jpg

Livebarers like mollies and swordtails come to mind. I don't have many now, but would like to get wild types eventually.
But not as peaceful (but not too bad) are my astyanax bimculatus. They get nippy and chase from time to time. Smaller fish will become prey. But they are extremely hardy. The biggest is between 6-7", and have 5. I had 6, but one jumped.
