Yes, I need to upload a photo, but the lights are out on the tank at the moment. I'll follow up on this odd guy with photos later. For now, I'll provide my description.

Ok, I have a 125G tank set up and I currently have only 2 large angelfish and several other small tetras. I'm picky about my angelfish, as I want only very spectacular looking specimens. I was at a LFS looking to buy a net to fish out some tetras to give away to a friend and I saw they had some young angelfish for sale. One of them took me buy such surprise that I bought the little guy and took him home.

The angelfish in question is unsual as this fish has 7-8 clear stripes vertically across the body. Not the usual 4 stripes you see with silvers. There are also very clear but distinct and small spots on the body between the stripes. Also, the front of the top body fin has a very distinct purple fading to crimson red on the outter most part. This fish is seriously pretty. I've never seen anything like this before and I'm wondering if any of the folks here has.

I've spent some time on the net researching exotic angelfish breeds and have not found anything like this fish anywhere. The guy is only a quarter size now. But with my diet he'll grow quickly. I feed only the best frozen foods and provide a great deal of variety. My current angelfish residents started near the same size and has grown to be 6" in six months.

I'll follow up on this post tomorrow with photos after the lights kick on at noon. I know everyone wants pics, so I'll put up the pics tomorrow.

I'll also make some calls to the LFS this fish came from and see if I can get some clue as to where this fish originated from. I'll update that info tomorrow too.

Cheers,
Wick

Sounds weird, google it

Yeah, I know right. I did google it for some time. Came up with nothing that was even close. That's why I'm posting it here. If nothing else, I figure I'll get some of the best feedback available on the net here at MFK once I provide the photos tomorrow. Check back then, if nothing else, you'll see an interesting angelfish. Thanks for reading.
