My xanthic Freddie "Spike" was raised in my Jag tank where, as a baby he survived by sleeping with the Clowns in a knot in a log.
As he grew I had to provide a bigger sleeping spot as I was worried he would get stuck. He moved in and surprisingly the loaches went with him!
That was about 2 years ago, I am now convinced Spike really thinks he is a clown loach! He's even tried to modify his colour to match! LOL!
Every so often I see tiny teeth scrape marks on the Clowns where he was obviously jostling for a better sleeping positon, but other than that, it all runs smoothly! This guy is one in a million. I have never heard of anything quite like it! :grinno:
Here's a pic of him and one of him snoozing with his buddies!

No he's a friedrichsthalii. And he has never gotten beaten up, because as a baby he was smart enough to remain out of the way, now he thinks he's a clown and is very unchallenging! Actually, the Jags take pretty much no notice of him at all.
My female even spawned within 10cm of him!!

I'm not surprised. My freddies are remarkably mellow. I've never seen a xanthic freddie...not for me. But the personality of that fish is priceless nonetheless. Thanks for sharing.

That is an uncommon fish and it's pretty cool. It looks like it has some good size bites taken out of its fins. I wouldn't risk losing him, you should consider other arrangements imo. Very nice...I'm a Parachromis fan. The pic of him squeezed in the log is hilarious.
