Unusual Tail Patterns

Hi guys, this is my big female mono. Has anyone ever seen markings on the tail anything like hers. The red section of the tail is broken up into three parts. Anyone else seen anything like this before.

I think it is like that because the tail has been torn in the past.

Yes, I have. I've seen a few around here with patterns just like that! I haven't had the opportunity to own one of my own though.

Okay so not that uncommon. Do you think it's caused by split fins like Loubard suggested or is it a variation from birth.
