I just checked my tank and saw some white stuff floating around..i thought it was just some scraps but then i see it swimming...

it's a white or transparent color. around 1mm.
it swims fairly well with it's tiny legs.

is shaped like a flounder or a horseshoe crab

brine shrimp?

it might be a water flea (flee?). they are bad. there is a topic around here stickied somewhere with a very nice pic of it.

hmmm it looks like a brine shrimp..
i took it out though..

i'm not sure if there are any others.

at first i thought that it was crawdad babies, but then i didn't think the one i threw in the tank isn't big enough...

the other thing is that i bought some feeders at PETCO yesterday.. could they have been stuck to the gold fish/rosiered minnows?

paul112; it's shaped like that one but not colored at all.
are they harmful to turtles?

i don't know who caused it but after i fed a small amount of bloodworms to the bluegill today, the one hiding in the cave came out and died minutes later..

Look something like this?

Daphnia

If so it is harmless and actually a good food source for smaller fish.

Eww. Glad there is only one.
