Hi all, first post here so lets proceed with the question...
I have unwanted guests in my tank - I have identified nematodes quite easily enough and most of them are gone now but when they left there was something growing on the tank walls, see image here

These things were waving around with the water pattern, anyway, after removing them with a scrubbing brush I saw the following:

These were swimming quite well, very different to the small nematodes I saw which generally try to swim but do not get anywhere. These things were able to travel quite easly in a swimming fashion. Its not vital any more that they are identified as the filter seems to have removed them all but if they come back I will get one out the tank and try a proper close up photo. It just bugs me that I cannot figure out what they are!
I have ruled out most parasites that I can Google (planaria and other larvae).
More info on the tank...
Its a 4ft Jewel bow fronted aquarium, 240L with Eheim Pro 2 filter housing a 12" chocolate Pleco and a 18" claria catfish. There are no plants just a large tube.
The tank has been purchased recently from a local shop, it was an ex demo unit and came with the gravel and used filter so I simply added water, let it get to temperature and then add the catfish, the pleco was purchased at a later date.
For anyone thats interested, I am making an arduino controller but I am focusing on an automatic water change. A bilge pump to remove water going outside to a sprayer to water the garden and a solenoid filler to drip feed into the tank for refilling. I will keep you updated on how that goes, just waiting on components.
Thanks all,
Gavin
