well after a long winter under almost 4 feet of snow the pond and garden is up and running.

this year I decided to rebuild one of the larger spare AQUASCAPE pumps i had acquired from a landscape friend. you see every year i have to rebuild one because aquascape pumps suck that bad that they only last a summer if that! (dont buy them) i have a few one bigger than my original one smaller. this year i went through the 4500GPH pump and it works for now. and wow what a flow!

i recently put my two LMB out in the pond because they out grew my 120 gal tank this winter. I dont see them lasting through the summer out there though it will get too hot. hope to donate them to cabelas since nobody wants grown out LMB.

here it is bare as it gets other than the perenials that came up, soon it will be planted and full of color and birds. and a few less welcome critters usually too. but its nice to have a little wild life here in the city.

Very nice looking! Its very natural and I really like the larger boulders you've placed around it. Coupled with that nice paver patio, it looks like a great place to relax and down a couple cold ones :).

Was it an Aquasurge pump that fried out?

They do suck and Aquascapes is gonna have to find a new manufacturer or redesign them. I father-in-law bought a new one last year and it crapped out this year. It was under warranty, but I think he is going to have problems with it as well. I need a new pump this season and i'm leaning towards a Tsurumi. I like the energy savings with the Aquasurge, but don't want to replace the pump every 2-3 years.

yeah they suck bad.. when i can no longer go through mine and get them running anymore ill be buying a different brand pump.
