Whenever I want to raise or lower the temp, I've been doing it by 1 degree every 2 hours. Has anyone ever done so in less time? ie: 1 degree every 1 hour, and didn't have any negative effects?

Why are you fiddling with the temperature? Keep the temperature consistent. A degree won't have much impact as a few degrees but why do you keep changing it?

I didn't say that I'm constantly changing it, my question is in regards to IF i need to up the temperature in CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES

If I up the temp for medication purposes I go from 82 right to 86 by turning the thermostat up...the time it takes the heater to raise the temp is gradual enough...I run 2 x 250watt STEALTH heaters in 120g

same method.. different size heaters and tanks.. be sure to have good surface agitation.. "warm" water does not "hold" as much oxygen as "cool" water

Not too sure what the difference is, in 82 and 86 degree water as far as Oxygen content goes...never tested it...wonder if it is really that big of difference...
Anybody got the test results?

i have no real info to back that up... its one of those rather be safe than sorry things...

No no, I agree,
I was just wondering more or less how much difference it is...

I know in the wild fish will lay in deeper water when the surface water temp gets to a certain temp...
