A spawn of Andinoacara rivulatus 'Gold Saum' has just become free-swimming. The female is in her usual place, close to the fry, doing serious guarding. She looks a little agitated (could be because of me being in her face) and is taking it out on the male, who is intent on coming through the glass after me. She seems annoyed either with his non-productive repetitive "back and forth" movements, or "giving him heck" for not successfully chasing me off. One way or another they are displaying exemplary parental behaviour and here's a short video to illustrate.
