As the few that commented on my last post , I'd spontaneously brought myself a Redtail catfish after a fair few years out of the game.
I managed to find myself a large tank for said Redtail. I also rescued a Niger catfish around 3 feet long, aswell as the uncommonly seen, leariaus Pictus.
The Redtail is now towards 20", they are currently living in an 8ft x 6ft tropical pond, as the Niger decided to pop the seal on my 8ft tank in a quick flick of his tail. (Bum twitching moment)
The pictus is doing fine, I got a true measurement of her once we moved them from the tank to the pond. She is infact 34 inches from the snout to the tip of her tail. Not 36" as I guessed trying to measure Her in the tub when she arrived. I'm a bloke, we always add an extra inch.
I must say what an truly amazing fish, I don't think if ever part with her, so interactive.
Unfortunatly, myself and the girlfriend have split up. So I'm resorting my life out. Fortunately, I'm aloud to keep the fish there untill My new tank arrives (it's huge).
Although, I've rehoused the Niger just incase I have to get them out quickly more practical to house one 3ft fish rather then two untill the tank arrives.
Although, I might be having him back once all is settled, but he's gone to a great home 13ft x 13ft x 4ft tropical pond with several other nigers. Maybe it's best to leave him there, although I miss him like mad, such an tame fish, like losing a family dog.
I've got around 3 weeks before my new tank arrives. 10ft x 5 x 30". I haven't got anyone to moan about it now, haha!
Plus a few other tanks to house my other fish that need setting up.
I seem to have a massive collection of catfish all of a sudden. The bug really has set in. I've spent thousands the last few months.
Recently had myself a wykii aswell, man is that guy mean gone from 14" to 17" with in 3 months.
And tomorrow I'm off to pick up some Clarotes laticeps, very rarely seen.
Oh and one more thing, I might be taking a near 50" Redtail off someone as he's need to shut his pond down. The fish is 22 years old. But that will be once I'm all settled and can get the koi vat with the viewing panel built and Delivered.
For now I'll add a few pictures and some videos. Just to bring you all up to date.
Once the tank goes in, I'll post an update. I've missed so many fish off this list what I've recently had.
I'll do a big update soon.
Take it easy for now guys.
