update and need some help

ok i ahve 3 firemouths i got yesterday ( 2 T meeki and 1 T aureus ) ok so the aureus is kinda shy and skittish and one of the firemouths is kinda on the wrong side to speak so i took out my pair of cons and put them with my oscars ( getting rid of the female this week ) and put the firemouths and sev in the other side of the divider. the sev kept hiding when she was with the oscars so now shes outgoing and picking at the net i have over the filter on that side, so shes getting out of her shell. and my firemouths are looking a little bit better. and right now i have NO decors in the tank at all besides a bunch of fake floating and sinking plants for the oscars to play with ( they LOVE the plants! they take the plants down to the bottom ( the floaters ) and watch the plants float back up lol ) the female con is really pretty to! but for the sake of there aggression i have to get rid of her ( deff keeping the male! ) if i had another tank i would keep both but i dont atm. i have a bunch of there frys on the firemouths side of the divider and also with the oscars ( which they wont eat sadly... ) i only plan on keeping a few males but thats it and if there are any survivers i will donate to the lfs ( dont think they ever got any blk cons before so i may make a few credit from them ) i will talk to my grandparents to see if i can do a water change every 2 weeks instead of a month. hoping they go for it. im keeping the firemouths and sev divided for a few months tell they get on some size then removing the divider. there was no aggression with the oscars and firemouths so theres no prob there. i just want my firemouths to get better and get some size on them, i dosed with aquarium salt to. to be honest im thinking of getting rid of my oscars to but really attached to them! ( rescued them from a petstore and got 2 for 8 buxs at 3 inches ) so my final stock will be:

2 oscars
1 male con ( and 1 or 2 of his frys also males )
2 T meekis ( if they are a pair then i will get rid of the female )
1 T aureus
1 sev

i clean the canister once a week to a week and a half. alot of gunk filled up in the canister to ( eheim 2260 )

so any input or advise?

i would get more filtration, i have that same canister filter running on my 55g. I would get rid of some of that stock, when i had 1 13" O, 2 10" O (adopted these O for a short period), and a 5" jack and 3" mayan in my 125g running a sump, i had to do 40% water changes twice a weeks so nitrates would stay under 40, and i was lightly feeding them. Considering that stock and water change schedule, your nitrates are going to be pretty high.

With only being able to do a WC once a month I would seriously consider bringing your stocking down to:

1 Oscar, 1 Con, 1 Aureus or maybe 2 Oscars, 1 Con

Minimizing your bioload will help you signifigantly
