I had a name for him, but of course the wife renames him after a fruit due to coloration. Due to the bright yellow with red slashes he looks like a Peach. So I'll let her and the kids have it. As I watch him grow I wonder how long Jeff had the parents. Obviously it must have been almost a year because they are growing slowly. The Dad(Mo aka Monstro) should be 10" right now and is actually 8" from nose to tip of tail not to mention his hump swells for only a short time then shrinks back down. Mom(Cleo) is still hanging just under 7", but her hump come sand goes and always puts Mo's to shame. Some are impatient and want their fish big when they get them, but honestly I love growing things out and knowing they have the best chance due to feeding and care. Its definently showing with him. Faster growth, brighter colors, and he is definently thicker/broader body. The only thing was the parents had thicker and more mature faces which leads me to beleive they were definently not around 6months like he is. he still has a very juvi look to him. I'll post a Vid of the parents at the same size so that you get the idea.

Mo and Cleo at 6" 8 days after I got them. Peaches is one of the eggs sticking to the Driftwood in the back they are guarding.

Thanks, just rescently. So I would say around 5". You can see on an older video him half morphed. Was done in a week.

Nice man, just checked out that video, almost makes you want him to just stay black and orange!

Peaches is growing so fast! (Sorry about the name change)
Look at him flare up at dad though, dad turns around like "Ehhh I think I'll go this way instead."
Watching them grow into adult is one of the best parts about fishkeeping.
I have yet to own a fish I've had since an egg though.

I was hoping that too. He had a solid black line going all along his back and it looked sweet. Oh well, his current color morph looks good. Hope he retains it. Also will help when I get my camera so people can better see it.

Yeah, what are ya going to do. lol

Dad slams against the divider now and then but he doesen't back down. I couldn't agree with you more on the growing them out. Just to think he was one of the eggs in the back of the one video blows my mind that he has come this far and is picking up speed.
