He's roughly 4" now.

His colour really intensifies when i add food to the equation.

Man that's a nice looking fish, i love his color and markings. I wish we could get texas cichlids like that around here. nice fish man!

In the first pic he looks like he has some red in him, either way that is a beautiful texas, and the one I really want, all we get are the other ones with small spots that get massive.

I was at one of my lfs this afternoon and they had a batch of 1 inch Texas in stock, I'm jealous, wish I had room for one, beautiful fish!

wow! he looks IDENTICAL to my little fella. Mines around 4" now as well. Although mine has WAY longer fins but basically the same. Is yours SUPER aggro? Mine hates everything and rips everything to shreads. I love Carpinte! Best cichlid to keep IMO.

Mine trys to kill my con and salvini through two windows of glass since the tanks are right next to each other. He won't let me decorate because all the plastic plants are torn to little tiny peices in which I have to siphon out all the time.
