Today it was raining ALL DAY in Colorado. During monsoon season in Colorado lots of animals and critters come out. I decided to explore and hunt for some, well I was successful enough of catching some critters. Today I caught a HUGE Black Widow and small toad.

Below are some photo's of the gravid female black widow I caught today. She is red because of the eggs inside her.

Below are some photo's of this little toad I caught today. He was near a road when I caught him, he would of got ran over if I didn't save him. Now he is relaxing and getting fed. By the way it is a woodhouse toad.

Not bad. I've always had luck with the widows looking in cable boxes, wire boxes by the road etc. Where I'm at the brown recluses are EVERYWHERE. If anyone needs a few brown recluses let me know, I'm your man. Another good place for widows is piles of cinderblocks. Back in the day when I was in building trades in HS if we screwed up the teacher would make up move a HUGE pile of cinder blocks 1 foot to the left. PITA, but we'd usually find 3 or so B.Ws in the course of a half an hour. Any luck finding/getting pictures of snakes during your hunts?

I know where to find widows, they are among the easiest because of their thick/sticky/messy webs.

I found LOTS of garters but that is it. No bull snakes and ect. Just garters, which is kind of a bummer.
