Not much change since I posted my first thread http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=197982

It's tough to get a good pic of him now. Here are a few pics of him hiding by the filter (it's a biowheel 330 for a sense of scale). There are a few blurry pics, but it's the best I could do with him yesterday. Also a few vent shots so you guys can chime in on its sex. Maybe still too small to tell for sure, but I'm thinking male?

Again, if anyone has any input on what strain it could be, that's be greatly appreciated! :)

Where'd you get him? He could be a fader but he kind of just looks like the horribly crossbred midas/devils my walmart carries. When I think of a fader I think of a jing kang or something like my fader. Here are some pictures of his fading process.

Man, I'm going to be pissed if this is a RD/RM. I got him at Greentree Petcenter in Clarksville, IN. He resembled the other fish in the tank, and those were standard marking trimac-looking FHs. Maybe picking the odd one out wasn't such a bright idea...

I didn't mean to destroy your hopes, he may be a fader. Only time will tell. As long as you're sure he's from the same batch as the other flowerhorns in the tank don't stress out about it. The more and more I look at him though I see red devil/midas.

And yes the pictures I posted are all the same fish.

there's nothing wrong with faders! faders are awesome! I got a fader zz that looks like yours, except mine has a patch of red and is pearly.

He was in the same tank as this other larger one. Two batches of FHs in there, a large and small batch. This second guy was of the larger batch but died after a swim bladder problem.

I'm hoping the small one is a FH that will fade to the silver color and keep that. Compared to some of the pics when I first got him, he's lost a bit of the gray and grown in more of the silver sheen. I'm hoping he'll end up looking like a ghetto version of those silk flowerhorns that are around, just not as metallic.
