Update of my new Flowerhorn

Here's my new flowerhorn after a few days in its tank..
Can anyone tell if it's male/female?
Also what kind of breed? I think it's kamfaZZ..

I did wc & added some more coral chunks.. Does this setup look ok?
Did I add in too many corals? Please comment.. thx

He is looking nice.. As far as I know Kamfa and ZZ are 2 different strains... About the id, I am not too sure...

Oh boy.. I think my flowerhorn might be a female... Today I noticed two black dots on its dorsal fin..
Why didn't the dots appear at an early age? or do the dots become more apparent as it matures??

Another update.. changed the bottom tank layout a lil bit & added gravels..
Will be adding more this coming weekend..

the patch generally shows up as early as the fry stage, but most commonly around the 2-3inch mark.

personally, when it comes to zz's, i like females. their color becomes much more intense than a males. also, everybody wants a male zz to breed and make more extremely common, basic looking zz's. if you ask me, males are overrated.

unfortunately, i agree.
fins are not clamped like a kamfa(or even zz x kamfa) would generally have, facial structure is too elongate, even in a zzkamfa cross, you can clearly see fin and body structure differences. it might pass as as much as a zzmalau depending on how it looks when its larger, but that would be as good as it gets.

does the crushed coral or wood affect your pH, or your mineral(specifically calcium) content?
