Everyone's cichla are growing so much faster than mine, I broke down and decided to give mine feeders in attempt to catch up. Here are some pix of my growouts, hopefully they'll be in a new home 2-3 months :naughty:

Azuls and Kelbs have been on krill, hikari food sticks, blood worms, and cut shrimp since I got them. The biggest are about 4" :(

The runts had to be separated since they weren't growing as fast and are now in their own tank with fatheads.

Ocells have been on fatheads and bloodworms but are now taking food sticks and krill too.

All of the above are now getting fatheads once a week in attempt to boost they're growth.

Tems are strictly on bio-gold + since I want the others to catch up to them.

:)

I buy them in bulk from a farm and keep them in a quarantine tank with melafix for about a week before they're fed to the cichla.

So far so good :)

I'm going to try filets next as I really don't prefer live food.

You ever feed the feeders before you feed them to the bass?

Looking good so far. Great work.

I had my old Cichla on Tilapia Filets. Never tried below the 12" mark though. Catfish is VERY oily....Id go with tilapia. Or silversides if you can get them in bulk.
