its great that there r still responsible MFKs out there who want to be able to house fish in comfortable conditions for the rest of their lives b4 they even buy them. well done.

hell 300gal should be able to last 2 years max. especially with a 4 inch catfish...it shud be fine for now.

My 3' tsn x rtc lives alone in a 350 gal cattle trough, but by this time next year he and all my other large cats will combine in the 4500 gal aquarium that I am making. I've got the glass, and will get the rest of the materials soon. I think if he's alone he could live in the 300 gal trough for quite some time so long as you have lots of filtration. Probably like 3-4 years comfortably, but by then should be over 3' and will definitely need more space. Mine is 3 years old at 3'. Water changes become more and more frequent when you have a large cat in a not so large setting. I do 30-40% waterchanges every 5 days.
