I moved the pair to the 150 after selling the other two unbonded ones. They are happy in here and are growing and their colors are coming out more. They are almost purplish with a nice burgundy hue on the bottom half of their dorsal fins. The female is more rotund in the belly and has slightly better coloration with more red in the head and gill area.

Here is a quick video. Let me know what you think.

Pikes look great, do you have issues with dead spots in the scaping?

Thank you. I have four filters and a power head so plenty of water movement. No issues with dead spots. I hate that Oscar though. Such a messy eater but I can't catch him.

have you tried catching him while eating floating pellets. Hover a large net with 1 hand right above the surface a few inches behind the front glass. Drop a floating pellet right at the glass edge and when he tries to grab it scoop him up. You have to be fast and you'll probably only get 1 shot at it per day but you can try it the next day again

I tried that but he is too smart. I'm going to wait and try after dark when it is resting. Captive bred oscars are too dark aggressive with food and messy. My experience with wild oscars is the opposite.

Only just seen this post,I don't venture into the pike section often.
Did you catch that Oscar? It's a real pain if you have lots of decor and need to catch 1 fish.
I have a young melanura that I need to catch in a 7footer full of decor. If you did and you found an ingenious method to do it,can you let me know.
Beautiful tank by the way.

Thank you Stanzzzz7 Stanzzzz7 . I did catch him. I waited until the middle of the night and got him while he was sleeping.

Thank you,I will try this, trouble is they tend to sleep in-between rock piles so it still may be tricky.I may have to remove everything to get him.
The joys of fish keeping.
