first off i want to say thanks to all the help you guys gave me when i was adding, a female wolf cichlid to my male dovii. i did make a divider with a few holes in it small enough for her but to big for him. she has only went over to his side a few times but gets chased right back to her side. anyways just letting you all know that she has laid eggs all day today.:headbang2 wow i had no idea that there would be so many. is there anything i need to do now for the male to fertilize them? or will he know what to do? she laid the eggs on her side but i put a big piece of slate at the bottom of the divider so that is what she laid her eggs on. hopefully he can do it from there. what do you think?

I haven't had any luck breeding with a divider, but it is done all the time by others. If the male is fertile, and is in the mood, he will find a way to fertilize the eggs.

He will know what to do, mother nature teaches them.

It may take some time though, young males may take a while to understand the concept, you cannot teach it to him.

thanks for the info everyone. i dont think he fertilized them. most of the eggs are turning white. i thought i read that if the eggs turn white that meant that they didnt get fertilized and were dead eggs. does anyone know if this is true?
