Ferno is doing great! Starting to put on some size and bulk, he seems to be a bottomless pit eating anything and everything. He is loving being in the 125 gallon, always active swimming around and likes to hunt for food around the big piece of floating drift wood I have in the tank. Anyone seen the blue color on his face and back on a Oscar before ? 1369610

Almost looks like a hybrid, but what could oscars hybridize with?
That's the thing, Oscar's cant cross with anything.
I wonder if it's a wild one?
-603FiShHoBbIeSt- -603FiShHoBbIeSt- Where did you get this guy? LFS, local breeder, online? Did they tell you if it was CB or wild caught? Maybe a catch location?

Looks like a regular red oscar to me.

Monster aquarium in NY has some nice orbicularis (bumblebee oscars) if anyone is interested

Looks a little elongated but it's pretty young. Most likely you are correct.

Im pretty sure reds are a product of selective breeding. If not i guess i learned something new today.

I got him at my local fish they didn’t say if he was captive bred or not
