I just got off the phone with my buddy who owns the LFS where I purchased my 450g tank and he told me it will be delivered next Saturday. It's been such a long wait as I purchased it on Dec 26, 2009:(. I asked him why so long and it was because the bottom glass piece took a long time to arrive from the order...I guess the custom tank builder wanted to make sure the silicone is completely dry before handing it to me. Better be safe then sorry. Guess I'll just have to be more patient and wait another week.

how about a stock list for the 450gal monster???

Stock list for the 450g will be 3 x 16-17" Silver Aros, 2 x 12-13" Ocellaris Pbass, 13" 5 stripe Frontosa, 12" RTC, RTC/TSN(waiting for the little bugger to grow up more before thrown in)

For my current 225g it will be stocked with 5 x NTT Dats, 5 x Mono/Ocell Pbass, 2 birchirs, Tigrinus Catfish and Juruense Catfish. Once my Pbass's reach around 12" they'll be thrown into the 450g as well. Later down the road I will be purchasing a HBRTG Asian Aro and the 225g will turn into a Asian Aro/Tiger Datnoid tank.

For the 38g I'm throwing in my breeding pair of GT's and hopefully they'll mate. They spawned a few times already at the LFS where I picked them up from.

sounds like you have it all worked out so far, you might find your self with some open room in that tank...you open to ideas for that tank??

Ya I would like to add a few indo widebar Dats if I can find some but they seem very rare locally. Also maybe if I can't house the RTC or the RTC/TSN nomore(say in 4-5 years down the road) I'll probabely donate it to the local public aquarium and move the Juruense catfish to the 450g and maybe pick up some stingrays?

I am excited for you. Cant wait to see photos.

i was going to suggest some stingrays but i wasnt sure if you had any experience. also have you contacted the public aquarium about taking the fish in because i work at the New England Aquarium and our policy is normally not to take in fish like that for many obvious reasons....

nope I have no experience with stingrays, also I contacted one of the local big company LFS who deals with the public aquariums here and they said shouldn't be a problem taking it in. The LFS has a 3000gallon tank which houses black tip reef sharks and once they get too big they go to the public aquarium. Some fish gets transfered from the public aquarium to the LFS.

Anyhow who knows what my plans will be in 5 years, too far ahead to tell. If I move into a house by then and have a empty basement then I would build a indoor pond and keep the large cats. Only time will tell.

if everything works out for you great! im sure your RTC would love to be housed in a large public tank. also i think you should really consider the rays, so many benifits.
