So it's been a couple months since I got them I thought I'd give you guys an update on how they're doing.
They are both the same age (just past the hatchling stage when bought, I'm estimating 5 months old in total) and are extremely friendly towards one another. I am nearly 100% sure Venus is female and pretty sure Skeeter is male. The odd thing is...skeeter hasn't grown. Is there some rare occurence in beardies that one will stay small (I.E. dwarfism)?
I'll post pictures later tonight to give you an idea of the growth difference.
Both recieve a mixed diet of dusted crickets, greens, bearded dragon full diet pellets, mealworms, and the occasional fruit (getting mangos soon).

glad to hear your animals are doing well
not sure about the dwarf beardie thing tho
im no expert
but im sure it is posible

Are you sure the female isn't outcompeting the male for food?
I think that and also possible psycological problems (the smaller animal is a picky eater from the start and now also fells intimidated by the presence of the larger animal) are the main things here. Some baby animals fail to trive when housed in comunity even if there is only one cage mate. I think you need to separate them (youll need to do that sooner or later) and make shure he has its own complete cage, lots of quality UV ligth and great food and lots of it. One extra tip: cut down the most you can on comercial beardy food, that thing is junk (I used to like it, but that was untill I actualy read what was in there:grinno:). Small gutloaded crickets, waxworms and mealworms are the way to go (give always several small prey items insted of a few bigger ones to improve digestion) as well dark leafy vegetables like dandilions, mustard greens ,etc. That should improve its growth.

The thing is....I feed them both seperately to make sure he gets food. He just...hasn't grown whatsoever. They both get along extremely well (even with the size difference) he's just a runt. I'll be separating them soon if she gets much bigger, but I'll get him some wax worms this week. He needs the fat.

Edit: I also hand feed the greens, mealworms, dead crickets (if they die during feeding),fruits and veggies, and the pellets. They both are very gentle and enjoy the feeding time. I just know they love cabbage, and dislike apples and oranges XD

If it were parasites the female would be small as well. I was talking to the guy I bought them from and he said there's a possibility the female is a giant beadry (one that grows quicker and to a larger size than normal).
I'm just curious as to if there is any truth in that. It sounds plausible.

So they aren't related beardies then? There are "german giants" but I'd imagine they'd cost more, and you'd know it if you got them.

according to the guy I got them from they aren't related. I would think he would have known the difference but who knows anymore. I'm still working on getting pics.
