Update on my dark gar!

was an adoption and dont know weater a florida or spotted!

LOL stole this peace of shrimp from one of the big cats!

here he hates the paroon shark dont know why maybe he was a feeder in a past life!​

it is safest to say it is a florida/spotted gar, as they are very difficult and nearly impossible to tell apart w/ out knowing the locality of the fish. as for the paroon shark...i would say the gar sees it as prey. nice looking gar too.

Yes I was thinking the same the paroon is now in his own tank the gar took a big peace of fin off! so he now gets his own tank!
Getting an alligator gar and have a tropical lined up!
Work moved me and lost alot of fish!!!! I learned alot in the move and wont make the same mistakes twice! Had a nice 3 foot alligator gar that didnt make the trip! that was the hardest leason learned!
I adopted this guy and he was in very rough shape fungus covering half of his body! As you can see he has made a good recovery and is eating like a champ! got him off feeders and now eat shrimp/earth worms and hikari arrowana floating sticks!
