My little dudes and dudettes are growing rather nicely, I'd say a solid 1/2 inch over the last 3 weeks. They are getting fed twice daily, Hikari Cichlid Gold in the AMs and Bloodworms in the PMs. I do change 80% of the water weekly in the form of 2 40% WCs. Temp is 78.8* atm. Ph 7.2. I believe I have 2 Male Goldsaums, 2 Female Goldsaums, and 1 Silversaum that I am unsure the sex of. Hope you all enjoy the pics!

Here are some pics of the what i believe are males, they look identical to each other:

Here is the Silversaum, I still can't make up my mind on what sex I think it is:

I am by no means a expert on sexing cichlids, from what I have read males have a taller profile and are taller toward the front of their body, and are more colorful and typically larger. Females are more oval in shape, typically slender, less brilliant, and smaller. No breeding tubes have dropped yet so I am only guessing, here is a pic:

yupper male and female correct....... by the way those babies are beeing fed too much protein and are bound.... feed them some algea spirulina and cut out the hikari everyday alternate hikari maybe 2-3 a week and flake the rest yes the bloodworm pellet diest grows them but its kinda like eating protein shakes all day long you need your vegetables and hikari isnt the digestive support they need to balance everything

Good job with taking the pictures, Nice coloration too.

They look good. How big are they?

They are in the 2-3" inch range. I will take the spirulina suggestion into consideration, i would like them to continue to eat pellets though, rather than flakes, is there a good pellet form spirulina? And they get some vegetable matter in the form of algea wafers.

Anyone want to take a shot at sexing the Silversaum?
