So no one ever came to an agreement on what exactly he is. Well, I upgraded him to the 125 gallon today and got some better pics of him. His color came back and he immediately started swimming around with the other fish and feeding, unlike his quarantine where he always hid.

Here's the old thread: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?428137-ID-Please!

So anyways, here's the updated pics. What do you think he is now?

I would say he is a carpintis. Not from escondido, but still a carpintis or as some would say a green texas.

Escondido, I had some...real nice. Look at the defined worm pearling on the face, thats Escondido. The Vontehillo has more blotchy pearls which helps make the overall fish look more pearly. Nevertheless, Carpintis has their own beauty among each variant: Chairel, Escondido, Vontehillo.

There was a recent discussion/debate on the Carpintis on MFK here, but I dont have the time to go digging, you can search yourself: Escondido, Vontehillo
