For all who said it was destined to fail
The two $13 6 mil "flooring moisture barricades" have been going strong for a year now. As long as you put down some of carpet or even newspaper and don't jump around in there with cleats on then there should be no reason aside from a freak accident that you should develop a leak...that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Here it was last year: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=148304
All the plants in the old pic are still there in the new ones, just moved around, see if you can tell which is which?
Hyacinths wont winter here so I have to buy them new every spring and just haven't got around to it yet....I really would like to get a lotus this year but we shall see.
I have the water being pumped from the pond into a Rubbermaid container (I don't know how many gallons) and in there it goes to the bottom and up through 10" of pea gravel and another8 or so of pot scrubbies. It then flows from there into a small area which could be classified as a bog which fills up and the overflows back down into the pond evenly across a 4 foot waterfall (long not tall).
Stock is only two goldfish right now, I'm more into plants and am being stalked by a heron but might get a few large koi this year unless I go native.
