Alright... finally got around to taking pictures of all my previous critters as well as the new additions! lots of fun stuffs!
Will start off with the Toxic Fuzzy (Poecilotheria striata) cause I think this is just awesome.... I fed her today... she is no longer afraid of large crickets even though they are the same size as her... anyways... she attacked one in her cage today and missed..hitting the side of the enclosure instead... and leaving two perfect little venom splats on the plastic..... epic...
She did eventually get it though and is now chowin down.
Moving on to the lizards... I went from 1-4 in no time at all -.-
Crested Geckos
Soren of course, you all know I have had for a while
Being his normal silly self, not fired up in the middle of the day but I'll try to remember to get him when he's all bright and yellow.
A newbie that was kind of dropped on me from work... cause i can't say not to a cresty...they are just so very easy and adorable... offer me one for free and I WILL take it >.>
He fires up a nice rusty orange color and those pin stripes light up. I'm assuming it's a he but to young to tell still. I had been calling him "name pending" for the longest time that I decided to just keep it and his name is now... Pending.
Another baby cresty >.> That I got while they were on sale at my old store for $25. I hope this little beauty turns out to be a girl. Named her Ember for the orangy flames on her back that seem to always be fired up...but her sides turn near black when she really fires.
Ironically... she is the little one but is hogging all the food! look at the belly on this girl! Pending is anorexic compared to her! Will end up separating them here shortly anyways but might do it ahead of time if he's not gonna eat =/
AND another newbie >.> Another rescue.... I need to stop that I know... but understand the story on this poor guy... he came into our store from the 'breeder' underweight and listless... bigger than the normal babies we get in...which would not usually be a bad thing... but he was in bad shape.... even after all my efforts he would eat a little...enough to get by...but was a very depressed lizard. Against my protests one of my coworkers sold him (While i wasn't there of course) the lady who bought him brought him back a couple days later with an eye infection...since it was still within the guarantee we took him to a vet and got him eye drops and treated him. I questioned the lady and it sounded like her set up was ok... but here he was with a strange eye issue I had never seen before..... Which cleared up almost immediately when we put him in the back with proper lighting and all (before we even got the eye drops) On the plus side his color is lookin great and he is eating very well now so she did something right at least!
Anyways... we treat him..give him back to the lady... less than 24 hours later she comes back with the same eye issue.... lookin and sounding very pissed off... my manager didn't want to do the return on it but I made the executive decision to do it because I could tell that nothing good would happen to this poor lizard if I let the lady leave with him again.... Manager was pissed >.> So I offered to adopt him.....
Long story short, I now have a water dragon.
His eye problem cleared up THAT evening when i took him home... no idea what the lady was doing to cause it but I haven't had an issue with it since. I now have him set up in a nice 40 breeder psuedoviv (fake plants so it's not really a vivarium) and he seems to be a happy dragon.
Ok onto the snakes! New additions here to >.> but let's start with the oldies
My darling Eclipse, My first snake, love him to pieces! He wants so badly to breed with something lol
He JUST shed like...last night... so he is super shiny
Spotlight, my Striped girl.... possible future girlfriend for Eclipse but probably not. She should be ready to go next year...
Ace... possible female... probed female but it was also putting up a big fight. This one was kinda dropped on me right before i left Fl. One of my managers sort of assumed I'd be ok taking it off her hands... which is not entirely untrue... I just don't know what I'm gonna do with it now..... eats great and is a cute little guy/girl, but I'm a stickler for clean patterns and this one is not....
If it is a female I may keep her just for the hell of it... give Eclipse something to do (pun intended) and I can start building up a stock of feeder snakes for future corals.... Hoping to get into those in the nearish future but will see how life goes....
This one... I actually happened across on craigslist while lookin for furniture... saw the 55gal tank and stand listed for $50... now what do I need a 55 for? but for $50.... had to check it out... low and behold it comes with an albino striped cali king! o.o want.... so I contact the guy and he's still got it and wanting to get rid of it... he seems knowledgeable enough and is getting rid of the snake cause he's moving away for college. He is about an hour from me and offers to meet me halfway.... now... in oklahoma... half way between towns is the middle of f*$%&in no where.... So I took the risk... drove into the damn desert to meet a stranger and got this GORGEOUS animal
Which is now named Risk
Definitely a male, estimating 5 years old, roughly 4ft. Very beautiful.
Almost done folks, bare with me >.>
Pythons!
as Ya'll know my white lip python died shortly before the move
but I still have my Irian Jaya carpet who is alive and kickin' curious as ever to
Here's Thanatos trying to figure out what the heck I'm doing.
and the treat to myself for moving out >.>
My bar neck scrub pair... both all fat and happy after a big meal yesterday.
Thor
Valkyrie
Finally... just a little more.... my non reptile children!
Pheonix... who has been with me longer than anyone.... Going on her 8th birthday this month
Cute little girl...and yes, she is a girl...she lays eggs every now and again.
and yes... those are leather jesses on her feet >.>
And another new addition because i simply cannot survive without a furry cuddly thing...
Merlin! bombay/maincoon mix.... only 6 months of terror right now but he is gonna be a big kitty... has giant paws for that little furry body. But...amazingly... doesn't shed all that much. He has a bit of cold atm that he went to the vet for today..poor kitty is all mucusy and sniffly....
And that is it! I think.....
I hope I didn't forget anyone..... and I still have 7 empty cages/fish tanks... wtf!! Well... I start work next week with almost 40 hours right off the bat (awesome) maybe will get some fish again soon >.> maybe.... I am trying to actually slow down till I get a better idea of my finances.... ya know... doing that hole responsible thing now.....
