Thanks for all the positive remarks guys! I appreciate it. It's taking a lot of hard work and dedication to sustain a proper environment for him.
To answer some of the questions...
The pond is 6x10, no other fish.
The water is clear as can be, the pictures of him on the bottom are a bit over 3 feet deep! DIY W/D filter and a 2400 GPH pump for the win!
As far as I know he is 100% RTC.
I have to say my first winter with the pond wasn't too bad. The basement is unheated, gets down to around 50 degrees, but the pond has tons, and I mean tons of insulation around the sides and bottom. Plus I have an insulated cover. Two 300 watt heaters keeps the temp at 80 degrees and the additional electric cost was only around $35/month. Not bad at all considering the high cost of utilities in NJ. I was dreading an extra $100 or more each winter month.
I'm starting to get the "I can do better" ideas in my head. Now every time I go to an aquarium I spend more time looking at how they build sealed glass walls, and how thick the glass is and less time looking at the fish
