And feel free to try to ID if you can :) The big one is now pushing almost 6 inches, and the little ones pushing 4 inches. They have really colored up, and they show some great aggressive coloring.

They are starting to seriously chase my bleeding heart tetra's though, so I'm going to try to catch them tonight and transfer them to the other 125g tank.

I've also noticed a weird behavior with my pair. I don't know if anyone else has seen this before. Whenever I approach the tank, they both move towards the glass and watch me, but the smaller one always positions itself between the larger one and me, no matter what angle I approach from. The larger one hangs back and lets it, but the larger one is definitely dominant when it comes to feeding and pushing the little one out of its territory. Anyone else seen this before and know what it is?

Fla hybrids/ocells.

These little buggers are impossible to catch! I had the lights off in the tank, the other tanks, and the room for like 3.5 hours hoping they'd fall asleep, and as soon as the net hit the surface of the water, they had disappeared in the plants at the other end of the tank :irked:

I think tomorrow I'll just do a huge water change, and hopefully I can catch them in like 6 inches of water or so.

Finally caught them and transferred them to their new home, another 125g tank. I had to drain the tank to about 5 inches of water and remove half of the plants to catch them :irked: Stubborn little buggers.

So now they are in a 125g tank with a 6 inch Crenicichla venezuela and an IT Datnoid. They seem to be getting along well, and for the first hour or so, all 4 of them were moving around in a tight clump, like they were afraid to explore the tank alone :) I wish I'd taken a video of it, as it was really cute. Now they've gotten a little bolder and are exploring more on their own, and I think they really like the new tank. It's a lot more open than their last home, which had a LOT of plants and other fish in it. This tank only has a pile of rocks and 2 large pieces of driftwood in it.

I'm planning on adding some sand in the next couple weeks, either Tahitian moon black sand, or maybe a dark brown or black S grade 3M sand.

Here's some pics (sorry for the mostly crappy quality):
