heres a little update on my boy blue, they are getting ready to spawn again but i'm assuming the fry in teh tank will be eating the eggs for the 3rd time which i dont mind, they seem to love the extra protein! the males fins are looking a little frayed, the fry are still pecking at the parents when they are hungry so i will be removing some in a little while. Already found my keeper adn at one-one and a half inch looks like a stunner already.

should i add some aquarium salt to help heal his fins? dont want these baby dovii eating him alive

Agree with jweav, at a certain point the fry become dangerous and will cannibalize the parents (and their smaller brothers and sisters), and the parents allow it.
The fry need a constant food source and unless you can feed them many times throughout the day, they need their own tank(s).
Check out the damage to a make haitiensus done by fry.

Wow that is intense. Okay I will be separating them this weekend then. Much appreciated
