A while back I posted pics of my tank and had some holding females. Many of the MFK members advised to just leave the fry in the large tank and let nature take its course. I was all about taking the fry and growing them out in another tank which was really enjoyable to watch them grow but the work load became very strenuous. Currently I have 3 tanks going, my 75 for everyone to see as they enter my upstairs then I have a 29 gallon with babies from Christmas (10 babies hybrids) and now some March 1st babies (7 yellow labs) and a 20 gallon keeping 1 holding fryeri.

So I have now redone my large tank and added a lot of rocks and sand and and once all current babies are large enough I'm putting everyone in the large and see what happens.

Here are my most recent pics...please share any experiences or offer some advise on what you all have done.

Thanks in advance

love it. can i borrow your camera? :-D

So unfortunately, the eyebiter will only be in there for a short time. He is going to live at my brother's house in his 90 gallon. He is getting a bit too big for the tank and as he gets bigger he is becoming a bit more aggressive towards his roommates.

With that being said, he is a beautiful fish and very active and eats a ton of food...

Thanks to all for the comments...

beautiful tank. you may want to raise your intake to your filters a few inches--they are really low and close to the sand. you could just cut the intake tube a good 3-4 inches. that way, you arent sucking sand into your filters when the fish trench in the sand--sand looks great, but kills canisters and filters lol..i had to learn that the expensive way lol..

i really love your driftwood in there! it all looks really great!

Thanks for the comments, I was under the impression that the filters may do a better job of cleaning the floor the lower they are. How high from the bottom do I want them to be?

Also, my fryeri just released 7 fry. They are very unattractive in comparison to the my mbuna fry. It may take me a while to figure out who fathered these guys. Here is my plan, tomorrow I'll take do a 30% water change and put the female fryeri back in the big tank as well as raise the filter intake tubes.

I now will have a 29 w/ 22 fry all born after Christmas this year. My wife is starting to worry, she says "I think we are about to have major fish problem." She may be right, these things are breeding like crazy.

Anyway, thanks again for all your comments and suggestions. I'm enjoying this hobby more and more everyday.

I love the way you used the wood and rocks. Very beautiful tank.:)

Gorgeous tank!

You can also put sponges over the intake of your filters to help keep the sand out. I use maxi-jet filter sponges on my Aquaclear filters.
