photo caption...
1) my greenish buettikoferi...only one i've seen like that. behind it is the palmas palmas
2) fat polli
3) buettikoferi...i've seen this guy try to 'court' the fat polli several times...and as usual the female ain't interested :D
4) i believe this is the first guinea lapradei toyin brought in. got it a long time ago. its contrast varies with time. right now it looks better than it was in the pic.

Awesome shots. Very nice collection.

great pics ricky !!
that green buet is very interesting.
palmas palmas is looking good too
thats another one on my wish list :D

i see the driftwood pieces in there..
looking real good, waiting for the full tank updates :P

thanks for the nice words ewurm and ray!

and ray you don't really need to wait for full tank shots, cause the two smallish pieces of driftwood you see there are ALL i have in there at the moment, so it probably looks a heck a lot better with a partial shot than a full shot :D and yes you should get a palmas palmas...they are absolutely beautiful!

oh yeah and you see the scar on the gill plate of the green buetti, thats from a SAL attack that bit a hole thru the gill plate...luckily it recovered.

Very nice fish - I like the coloration on the lap's face... reminded me of an endli. And of course, I love the endlis too. Particularly the first pic of the volta, and the very last endli pictured. Awesome collection, but I gotta ask... whats a SAL?

thanks keeper! SAL is south american lungfish. needless to say, it was outta there pretty quick after that.

Pretty much. Any fish that gets aggressive and starts to nip bichirs is toted off to trade in same day. I totally understand where you're coming from. I just bought a group of young plecos to keep my 55 clean, and I watch daily to make sure their sucker mouths are attached to GLASS and not slimecoat. A few days ago (horrified!) I saw my ansorgii swimming along with the pleco attached. The pleco is gone. I was so mad I flushed it.

good thing you caught it in time...you shoulda just traded it in instead though for some store credit :)

i didn't trade in my SAL, cause it was already pretty big. i kinda gave it away to someone i know, and when he couldn't take care of it anymore, i donated it to the zoo, which was looking for a replacement for the one they had that died not too long before. the SAL has been thru a lot, i'm glad it ends up in a facility like a zoo :)

Unfortunately, the LFS I'm loyal to is a 30 minute drive away... not quite worth the gas money for a 4'' pleco. And every tank I have has a bichir in it so I couldn't hold him until I had a chance to go up. That and... well ya just dont mess with a 500$ fish ya know? lol Oh well, the other two plecos are being good little fishies and only eating algae. That's awesome that your fish ended up at a zoo :) Bet it gets the best care available. Could you imagine if there was a bichir zoo?! That'd be SO awesome.
