For those who remember these two were the rays I got after they spent the night at the airport. They had ammonia burns, fish lice, and were very skinny. Just wanted to show some updated pics. Dandelion is not as fat as I would like but eats like a pig. I feed her heavy once a day and sometimes twice a day. I always make sure her belly is full. I need to make a better effort to feed her twice a day. Lil bit has just got plump. She eats very well on shrimp and worms.

not tryin to derail, but i got flamed big time on another forum for keepin rays on gravel. is it better to keep them on sand or does it matter?

as long as the gravel is rounded i dont see a problem, they might not be able to hide under it but it shouldnt hurt them.

and now back on topic,

some very nice looking rays. :)

There is no problem with gravel as long as it is smooth. You just have to keep it clean. My rays dig in it and usually swim around with pieces of it on there backs. I only have two rays that bury themselves and they only do this when I clean the tank.
