Recently, I've decided that it's time to relocate my tank within my household. I have a little bit of money to work with and it's time to fix my tank also. I need some setup and equipment suggestions please.

An old post with my sump information for reference:

The problem started with one of those wonderful plywood stands... A misplaced anti-siphon hole in the return plumbing and a few power outages later: I now have a warped stand to replace. I've managed to procure a 48x18 cherry wood stand from Petco for $125 (Minor dents and dings don't bother me when it lists for $450). Any suggestions on a good plan of action to seal and protect the interior of the new stand from mold, mildew, and warpage issues? Any setup tips in regard to the tank relocation, ie: leveling the stand, mounting power outlets, and optimum filter intake/return placement?

The rio 17hf as my main system pump has got to go! I would like to replace the rio and use that as a circulation pump for water changes. I am considering replacing the entire sump box because of some personal oversights in the construction process (Namely: ease of maintenance, desiring a sealed bio-tower unit to eliminate splash, and wanting seams to have the same structural integrity as a commercial quality sump box). All signs point towards a new LifeReef trickle filter for me! Suggestions about system pumps (internal/external) and sump sizing (no more overflows!) would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently running PhosBan filter media and Chemi-pure. The filter cylinders from LifeReef (http://www.lifereef.com/cylinders.html) seem nicely designed but appear to flow from the top down instead of bottom up. Would the ability to run my active chemical filtration off of my system pump be worth my time? I'm looking for water flow like the Phosban reactors but the ability for these to be hooked up in a parallel configuration to fine tune water flow in each chamber. That would make all of this a no-brainer!

A new aquarium heater sized for my tank and sump is in order as well. Which brands have the most temperature accuracy and a long usage life?

Once again, any suggestions welcome.
