(Upgrade) Do I Have Enough BB To Start A 280g?

Filtration: 2 Penguin 350s, Canister Filter w/ about a gal. of bio media

Filtration for the 280g will be a trickle style overhead. Bio media from the canister will be removed and mixed evenly with the new ones on the overhead. Will it be enough to seed without going on a mini cycle? 30 lbs of substrate will also be transfered. HOBs will be hooked up to another tank.

So, bacteria grows relative to the amount of waste available to consume. If the bacteria is supporting the fish now, the bacteria will support the fish in the 280. You may have die off due to improper handling of the bacteria colonies, but I wouldn't expect a cycle to occur if you are using all of the media in the canister as well as the penguins.
