Hello MonsterFishKeepers and happy holidays.

I am selling my 55 gallon tank and getting myself a 125 gallon tank from craigslist on Monday :grinyes: . At the moment I have an Oscar 4", a Firemount 3 1/2", a Blue Acara 3", a Convict 1 1/2", and a Parrot 1 1/2". I'm going with the Central/South American Cichlid for this tank and I was wandering if I could get another two fish; a pike of some sort, and a Surinamen Geophagus (Redstripe Eartheater, the Mother-of-Pearl Eartheater, the Opalescent Eartheater)?

Would this be overstocked? I know that my fish are all juveniles and have a lot more growing to do but I figured that in a 125 there would be enough room for a couple more.

Thanks...and if anyone has any suggestions on Tankmates I'm all ears.

u can get what ever u want its ur tank

I would not recommend mixing Geo's with convict's or Firemouths...also, geo's do much better in specie specific groups. Maybe 2-3 Firemouths and a group of Con's(1 male 3 females)....that would definately be a busy tank and fun to watch...

if you like geos then you could do a pair of Geophagus Brasiliensis, they are quite attractive and can hang with cons and firemouths.

maybe a group of clown loaches?

The Bahia Red I kept for a while was always a little too aggressive for some of his other new world tank mates. He eventually settled in with a polleni, who was also quite aggressive. You can just never know for sure until the fish is in the tank.
