I just picked up an acrylic tank, that holds 120 gallons, uprading from a 45 gallon. The tank was an old restuarant tank i got from a guy in town that didn't want it in his gargage no more for $50 dollars.
It well rest on a stand made of 12 cinder blocks, covered by a table cloth
The corner overflow it has will be sealed up with arcylic pieces and acrylic glue, the overlow will be turned into a bio tower of sorts, a powerhead will suck in water from the other side of the tank, and send the dirty water to the bottom of the biotower, then the water will rise through a eggcrated area to trap debris so i can flush out, then rise through some gravel than through 3 inche polyfiber pads then waterfall back into the tank.
black sand as ssubstrate, the main fish will be a black angelfish, black ghost knife, and a rhino pleco, with two spotted rapheals that will hide in the day.
One question what will be a good top dweller?
Pictures will come in december when it is setup so this is just a description, i have gone from a ten gallon to a 120 in less than six months.
and my family loves it.
also the acrylic is 3/4 inches thick (19.05 mm).
