A9CCCCA5-990F-41CC-A20D-C1E2E900DD35.jpeg So got the used xsalt 210 glass surfaces cleaned. 55 cleaned for a sump to change the sump under my 125, need a couple small pieces of glass and that’ll be good to go. 40b scrubbed and bleached to kill whatever killed the last inhabitants(think it was just too hot upstairs but safe than sorry you know) good to go for transition/hospital tank duty. Stay tuned I will be posting pics here as I get everything up and running.

As a question on the aqueon overflows in the 210. Took some heavy scrubbing but I got all the salt nastiness off the glass, couldn’t get the plastic completely clean. My main concern is what’s inside the internal overflow, tried to spray it out as best I could. I do plan on setting it up in the garage and letting it run for a week thru filters to collect what it can. Any suggestions on if it’s safe or how best to clean this part?

Diluted muratic acid, spray it into those columns and let it chew for a second and then as gently as possible, spray directly in the column with a higher pressured hose sprayer you have (While standing away from it obviously). That’s how I got it out of mine and it was TERRIBLE. That same muriatic acid will get the rest of the stuff off those columns as well. But remember, “do what you oughta add acid to water”.
I’d recommend some heavier duty rubber chemical handling gloves and definitely some good fitting safety glasses, goggles if you have them.
