Upgrading my filtration.

I'm not to satisfyed with my current sump and integrated protein skimmer. The skimmer overflowed one day and I haven't had it on since. The sup collects dirt and other detrious at the bottem, even after the mechanical filtration, so i think it's about time for a new sump.

I've heard alot about the Berliner system, but i don't know to much about it.

If anyone has any better suggestions for the skimmer i'll look into it. Do you even need a skimmer for the berliner system?

General info on the berliner system would be helpfull too.

What about the sump? how good is that? Oh and my tank is a 90 gallon reef.

That skimmer is quite expensive, i might have to go with something smaller/cheaper and save up for a nice big one for the time being.

my question before I recommend anything is what size tank? Is it a Reef tank or FOWLR?
